When you live in a rural area, you need fire wood!

Good morning!!!

I've been in this house with my husband and my dogs and cats since April of 2014 and since then we've lost some oak trees which we had to take down.  The wood piles were getting bigger and to move them seemed so daunting.

Since we bought this house we've helped out several friends with a place to stay while they got on their feet or prepared for their next step.  Most recently we offered my friend Kevin a spot and he was with us for about 3 and a half months before acquiring a job at a local horse ranch which offered housing too!  Since then my best friend, whom I call Alice, moved in after I picked her up from Texas, and I have been working on making her feel at home...

Kevin kind of left in such a hurry he didn't clean the RV very well so he felt pretty bad. So bad that he decided to do something nice for both Alice and I.  He decided to come over on his free day to move the log pile out of her way which is a huge help to me too!

Let me tell you a little more about Kevin!  He has had many struggles and difficulties but has a kind heart.  I know his journey is far from over too, but he is doing so well right now, I am super proud of him!  His story is an amazing one and I hope he tells it someday!

Well, I was happy to see him happy and so I made this short little YouTube video of the log pile adventure!

BFC Ink Doll Collection Complete!!

Well, if it isn't obvious, I got into doll collection, but I suppose I always was a doll collector, just not really by choice as my mom would buy me a porcelain doll every year for my birthday until I moved away for college, but even then I still got porcelain dolls as gifts from her and other members of my family. Over the years of course I have collected dolls from the 80's like the Kimberly doll by Tommy, and of course Barbie...  then I got into repainting Bratz dolls the past couple of years and added Monster High to the list of dolls to look for at flea markets etc... But one day, by chance I came across the now out of production MGA Entertainment 18" BFC Ink (Best Friends Club Ink) dolls.  These dolls are way cuter, in my opinion, than American Girl Dolls (which I really do not like at all actually) or Journey Girls etc...  They have a hard body all the way and were made in two types.  The first productions were just all vinyl bodies, much like the Wellie W...

I am not so sure I have ever wanted anything this badly before. So in my anticipation I have been day dreaming and planning, coming up with ideas like this: There are several concrete pads and they are so plain, so maybe something like this method w...

Revisiting the name "Syren"

From time to time I contemplate this name.  It is a name I particularly love to see in written form and I actually love the sound of it when spoken.  But what does it mean?  It is a made up word or name that simply appeals to me. Syren makes me think of serene...  It makes me think of the sea.  Some people pronounce it see ren... others sigh ren... It was half chosen and half given.  I've said this many times before. (recap) When I'd audition for singing roles, the panel would always do a double take, and onlookers would be in awe of my singing... Mainly because they didn't know what to expect until they heard it.  Because of this the name was given to me. But the name Syren is derived of: siren- –noun 1.   Classical Mythology . one of several sea nymphs, part woman and part bird, who lure mariners to destruction by their seductive singing. 2.   a seductively beautiful or charming woman, especially one who...
